=Biography=
Was born on May 10, 1812 in Theodosia, Crimea in a poor Armenian family.
==Education==
*Studied at Armenian parish school of Theodosia.
*Studied at Armenian Catholic school of Gharasubazar.
*In 1826 left for Venice, studied at the [[Mekhitarist Congregation]].
==Work Activity==
*Since 1830 worked as a general secretary at the Mekhitarist Congregation.
*In 1842-1848 taught at the [[Murat-Rafaelian]] college of Venice.
*In 1848-1856 was the director of the Suradian college of Paris.
*In 1843-1848 was the founder-editor of the first Armenian magazine "Bazmavep".
