*The monograph of "The History of the Armenian People's Liberation Struggle"(Հայ ժողովրդի ազատագրական պայքարի պատմությունից) (1976) provides the history of the national liberation movement of the Armenian people from the 70s to the 1920s in the 19th century, separate chapters are dedicated to the history of the Armenian question after the Russian-Turkish war 1877-1878 , the rise of the national liberation struggle after the Berlin congress (1878); Armenian Genocide in 1915, to the events of Cilicia 1919-1921 , the activities of people's hero Andranik etc.
*In the work "October and the Liberation of the Armenian people" (Հոկտեմբերը և հայ ժողովրդի ազատագրական պայքարը) (1982) among other issue the resistance of the Armenian people to the Turkish invaders 1918-1920 in the battles of Sardarapat, Bash Aparan, Gharakilisa , the significance of them, the relations of Soviet Russia and Armenia etc. are discussed.
*Aghayan discussed the Armenian national liberation movement, Soviet-Armenian, Soviet-Turkish issues according to the ruling viewpoint in the Armenian Soviet historiography until the mid 1980s.
