*From 1959 to 1964 served in the ranks of the Soviet Army.

*From 1975 to 1984 worked at the USSR State Committee of Science and Technology.
*From 1984 to 1986 was the Cybernetics Institute Director of USSR Academy of Sciences.
*From 1986 was the Software Systems Institute Director of Russian Academy of Sciences.
*In 1991 organized and headed the Russian Research Institute of Regional Problems of Russian Education Ministry.
*From 1993 to 1996 - Russian Perezlavl University Rector.
*From 1998 to 2003 - Russian Perezlavl University Rector.
