Biography
Was born in 1921 in Yerevan,the capital of Armenian Soviet Socialist Republic.
Education
- In 1943 finished Yereven State Institute(Yerevan State Medical University).
Work activity
- In 1963-1989 was a head of Epidemiologist department Yerevan Institute of Doctors.
- In 1965-1989 was a president of medical-geographers company in Armenia.
Achievements
- In 1962 was a Doctor of Medical Sciences.
- In 1963 became a professor.
- She received Order of the Badge of Honour.
Other
- She is the daughter of Alexanyan Arto.
- Her works refer to measures of prevention and fight against Smallpox.
- She discovered and studied the disease caused by the bite of rats. Varvara had applied the term Spatial epidemiology in Health geography.
