Biography

Was born on November 9, 1916 in Marash, Kilikia.

Education

• He recieved his elementary education at Betel Evangelical School in Aleppo.
• He studied at Aleppo college in Aleppo.
• In 1937 he graduated from Melkonian Educational Institute in Cyprus.

Work activity

• In 1937-1942 he was a teacher at Melkonian Educational Institute in Cyprus.
• In 1942 he lectured at AGBU Daruhi Hakobyan Secondary and Hovakimian-Manukian Schools in Beyrut.
• In 1966 he lectured at the Institution of Armenian Studies after Yervand Hyusisyan.
• In 1948-1981 he was a reporter at "Zartonk".

Achievements

• In 1969 he was an honourable doctor of New York Academy.

Other

• Leader of Armenian Ramkvar Liberal Party, one of the founders of "Tekeyan" cultural union.
• Founder of "Ani" literary journal.
• He raised the problems of genocide and Armenian liberal dispute motives and also, the origin and the essence of the "Armenian Question".
• Aharonyan claimed that they shouldn't forget or ignore the "Armenian Question" and that natural solution of that problem is the liberation and appendence of Armenian territories which were confiscated by Turkey.
• Aharonyan suggested to create a central body of Armenian, prepare an international social opinion of the "Armenian Question" and the problem of Armenian territories make a discussing subject for UN.
