Biography
Was born on July 28, 1909 in Alexandropol, Armenia.
Education
- In 1931 graduated from the Armenian National Agrarian University.
Work activity
- In 1935-1959 was the head of Leninakan's base department of Scientific Research Institute of viticulture, winemaking and pomiculture in the Armenian SSR.
- In 1959-1979 was the head of the department of Selective Breeding and Sort-Expertising.
Achievements
- In 1953 became a candidate of Biological Sciences.
- In 1954 was given a small medal for the exhibition of the USSR national economy's achievements.
- In 1959 was given the Order of Glory.
- In 1962 was given a big silver medal for the exhibition of the USSR national economy's achievements.
- In 1968 was given a bronze medal for the exhibition of the USSR national economy's achievements.
- In 1979 was given the State Prize of the Armenian SSR.
Other
- The works refer to the problems of the developement of pomiculture, the sort-examining of orchard sorts, their biological specialties, frost-resistance, sort-expertising and selective breeding.
- Experimented 19 sorts of apple tree, pear tree, plum tree, currant and strawberry, 4 sorts of strawberry were districted-Lori, Rubine, Leninakan's, Arevik.
