*After the murder of his father, [[Sahak Bagratuni]], took a cautious policy and did not participate in the 774-775 Armenian ministers' revolt against the Arab Caliphate, although secretly warned the rebels of possible Arab moves several times.
*After the suppression of the revolt the Caliphate recognized Ashot Bagratuni as an Armenian lord. Remained an Armenian lord during 775-781. The years of his reign rule were relatively peaceful.
