=Biography=
Was born on November 30, 1947 in Vaghoudi village.
==Education==
*In 1970 graduated from Yerevan State University.
*In 1971 finished the counterintelligence courses in Minsk.
*In 1978 graduated from the Intelligence Institute in Moscow.
*In 1998 and in 2000 was a listener in the European Center for Security Studies named after J. Marshal (Germany),and in 2002-a listener in the Management college courses named after J. Kennedy of Harvard University (USA).
==Work activity==
*1970-1972 served in the Soviet Armed Forces.
*1973-1980 worked for the Soviet intelligence system.
*1980-1983 attache of the USSR Embassy in the Islamic Republic of Iran.
*1983–1986- was the Vice Consul in Afghanistan.
*1992–1995 was the chief of the Intelligence Department of the Armenian Armed forces general staff.
*Since 1995 Azoyan Basentsi served in the Armenian Armed Forces.
==Achievements==
*In 2002 was awarded the title of Major-general.
*He was awarded the 1st and 2nd degrees of the "Military Service", "Marshal Baghramyan", "Andranik Ozanyan", "Garegin Nzhdeh", and "Perfect Service" and as well as the USSR medals.
