Biography
Was born on June 10, 1916 in Madan, Alaverdi, Armenia.
Achievements
- In 1944, 1946, 1949, competitions champion of Union of Soviet Socialist Republics.
- In 1947, European Weightlifting Championships winner.
- In 1948, USSR Honored Master of Sports.
Other
- Started weightlifting in Yerevan under the leadership of Simonyan Gregory.
- In European Championships in Helsinki, 1947 he surpassed 10 kg in the amount of triathlon of his team-mate Alexander Donsk and won a gold medal, due to which he became the first European champion, who represents USSR.
- After the completion of his career in 1953, he engaged in coaching activities in the Spartak sports society.
- He is buried in Sovetashen Cemetery, Yerevan.
