Biography
Was born on September 7, 1925 in Abastumani, Akhaltskha, Georgia.
Education
- In 1942 - became a student at the Tbilisi State Academy of Arts.
- Studied at Tbilisi State University, Faculty of Philology.
- Studied at Yerevan State Institute of Fine Arts and Theater.
- From 1945 to 1948 studied at Armenian State Institute of Physical Culture.
Work activity
- Worked as an artist-animator, draftsman, constructor and journalist in various foundations.
- From 1965 to 1973 was the drector of "Grakan Tert"("Literary Newspaper") prose.
- From 1973 to 1981 was the editor-in-chief of "Ekran"("Screen") magazine.
- Worked as a director at Hayfilm Studio.
- At the beginning of the 1990s, he was the editor of "Hayutyun"("Armeniancy") weekly newspaper.
- Wrote the screenplay of "Hayrik"("Father") feature film.
Achievements
- In 1975 - Laureate of ASSR State Prize (for the screenplay of the "Triangle" film).
- In 1982 - Honored Artist of Armenian Soviet Socialist Republic.
- In 1983 - Laureate of Derenik Demirchyan Prize (for the book "Triangle").
- From 1963 - Member of Writers Union of Armenian Soviet Socialist Republic.
