Biography
Was born in 1835 in Alexandropol, Armenia.
Work Activity
- Erected houses in Alexandropol, Kars, Etchmiadzin.
- Took part in the construction of the Seminary.
- As well as took part in the construction of fortresses and vaulted underground passages in Gyumri.
- The stone ceiling of the cellar of Antikyans' two-storey house is a valuable example of folk architecture, which did not collapse even in the 1926 earthquake.
- In 1858-1876 Antikyan was designated to erect the church of Holy Saviour in Alexandropol(collapsed in the 1988 earthquake), following the general design of the Mother Cathedral of Ani which was the biggest church in Armenia at that period (36m high).
- Took part in the reconstruction of Harichavank and the construction of the school and the seep.
Achievements
- Antikyan was a member of Harichavank companionship.
