Was born on October 8, 1932 in Tiflis, Georgia.
Education
- In 1955 graduated from Moscow State University of Economics.
Work activity
- 1966-1986 he was the director of the Institute for the organizing of economic and industrial production of the Siberian Division of the USSR Academy of Sciences (Novosibirsk).
- Since 1970 was the founder and the editor-in-Chief of "Organizing of Economics and Industrial Production" (Russian) magazine.
- Since 1985 rector of the Academy of National Economy under the USSR Council of Ministers (Now the Russian Government).
- Since 2002 head of the department of Economic Theory and Policy.
Achievements
- In 1963 became a Doctor of Economics.
- In 1964-professor.
- In 1974-academician of the USSR Academy of Sciences (since 1991, RAS).
- In 2000-Honorary Member of NAS (National Academy of Sciences) RA
