Biography
Was born on November 28, 1945 in Yerevan, Armenian Soviet Republic.
Education
- 1961-1964 Studied at Yerevan State College of Fine Arts.
- In 1969 graduated from Yerevan State Fine Arts and Theatre Institute.
Work activity
- Since 1970 teaches at Yerevan State Fine Arts and Theatre Institute.
- 1988-1994 Head of Department.
- Since 1998 president of the Union of Artists of Armenia.

Achievements
- In 1957 received Jawaharlal Nehru indian Award.
- In 1974 became member of the Union of Artists of the USSR.
- In 1980 Central Committee award.
- In 1982 received diploma of the Union of Artists of the USSR for the best painting of the year.
- In 1988 became member of the USSR Designers Union.
- In 1989 professor of Yerevan State Fine Arts and Theatre Institute.
- In 2008 Honored Art figure of the Republic of Armenia.
Other
- He is one of the founders of modern design in Armenia.
- His works are characterized by symbolic combinations, freshness of expressions.
- The works are kept in the national art galleries of Armenia, Russia, France, and art museums.
- The paintings are displayed at the Yerevan Modern Art Museum, the Magnitogorsk Museum of Culture, the Toulouse Contemporary Art Museum etc.
