Biography
Was born on October 10(23), 1904 in Igdir, Turkey.
Education
- In 1929 graduated from the Institute of Agriculture and Melioration of Don (Novocherkassk).
Work activity
- From 1940 to 1953, Water Economy Minister of (Armenian Soviet Socialist Republic).
- From 1947 to 1955, delegate of Armenian SSR Supreme Council.
- From 1953 to 1974, Water Problems and Hydraulic Engineering Director of Armenian SSR.
Achievements
- In 1957, honored irrigator of the Armenian SSR.
Other
- Grandfather of Aghakhanyan Grisha.
- Participated in the creation of a new irrigation system in ASSR (Artashat, Dalma, Lower Hrazdan and other canals, reservoirs), dealt with the questions of the using of underground waters in Ararat valley, design of irrigation network and history of Armenia's water economy development.
