Was born on January 19, 1937 in Leninakan (now Gyumri), the USSR.

Achievements

  • In 1971 became a doctor in Medical Sciences.
  • In 1985 became a professor.
  • In 1996 became an academician in the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Armenia.
  • In 1983 became a member of the main assembly of the Cardiologists' European Companionship.
  • In 1988 was awarded the State Prize of the Armenian SSR.
  • In 1996 became a member of the Cardiologists' Companionship's Presidency of the CIS countries.
  • In 1998 was awarded the Order after Mkhitar Heratsi.
  • Was awarded the People's Friendship Award.
  • Was awarded the Gold Order after Yevgeniy Chazov for the "Obvious Achievements in the Sphere of Cardiology".

Other

  • The studies relate to the mechanisms of cardiac diastole acute function and left ventricular transformation in cases of acute myocardial infarction and their prevention.
  • Developed a concept of cardiac function deficiency in congenital heart disease and congenital malformations and recommended classification of the clinical stage prior to insufficiency of blood circulation.
  • Introduced biomedical pathways in the clinical cardiology to deal with primary and secondary prevention of pulmonary hypertension and heart disease.
