  • Was awarded the degree of Archimandrite (Vardapet).
  • From 1407 - Bishop of Syunik.

Other

  • The poem “Adam's Book” (1403) became the culmination of his literary work.It is about a lost paradise, a lost human happiness. The work casts doubt on religious dogma.The book consists of three poems.It is considered to be one of the best works of medieval Armenian literature.Some verses from the Adam Book were set to music.There is also an English translation.
  • According to him, there are four elements which base the diversity of the world.
  • Defended the Cosmic Evidence Tethis of God's existence, adhered to sensualistic and nominalistic ideas.
  • Seperated sensual and natural stages of knowledge.
  • Conducted a wide scientific and educational activities in Tatev.
  • Wrote many eulogies dedicated to the saints of the Armenian Church.
  • Classificated human cognitive abilities, forms of knowledge, art and philosophy inspired by David Anhaght.
  • He believed that social-ethical issues come from the freedom of will, i.e. every bad and good deed is a consequence of the freedom of a man's will.
  • Was a poet-musician and a great connoissuer of the medieval Armenian culture.
  • Considered the object of grammar neither letter nor sound, but the experience gained by the writer and subjected to the processing of the mind.
  • Paid attention to the functioning and structure of the organs of speech.Considering syllables both separately and in coherent speech, he gave their detailed classification for the first time. In his work he distinguished three types of speech - internal, oral and written.Analyzed name, verb and pronoun in details, making many valuable and subtle remarks.
  • Was buried in Eghegnadzor.
