George churchyard. 1 gravestone in the Great Mazra (dated 1541). Some of these have the "Akob Kazmogh", sometimes "Akob Nkarogh" or "Akob" signatures.
  • The corners of his cross stones are narrow, their fronts and frames are wide, the central cross is placed in the abyss, icons and masks are expressive, inspiring and have the seal of reality. Unlike most Armenian masters, most of whom chose smaller lines, Akob followed the ancient traditions of sculpture. He used large quantities of geometric ornaments to reach monumental sound. On the tombstones he depicted both domestically and allegorical dynamic sculptures (crowned rider who spears the dragon, women, gata and so on). Akob's art had a remarkable effect on the stonework at that time.
