Work Activity

  • Since 790 was an Armenian lord (officially since 804).
  • Taking advantage of the breakdown of Kamsarakan and Mamikonyan houses extended the Bagratunis' manors (Shirak, Arsharunik, Taron), transferred the residence from Daruynk to Bagaran.
  • In order to avoid the Arab threat, helped the Gnunis, tranferred them from Aghiovit to Tayk.
  • Appointed his brother Shapuh Bagratuni the military leader of the Armenian army, made close family tighs with the house of Artsruni.
  • Taking advantage of the unstable state of the Arab Caliphate ruled independently which made historian Michael Asori think him to be the first Bagratuni king.
