Was born in 1590, Tabriz, Iran.

Education

Work activity

  • Was ordained as a doctrine and was a member of the Congregation.
  • In 1636 became Hovhannavank's Prelate.
  • From 1945 to 1946, as a nuncio of St. Echmiadzin visited Persia, Turkey, Syria, Palestine, Greece, had been in different provinces of Western Armenia and engaged in donations.
  • From 1651 to 1662, by the order of Philip I, he wrote the "Patmutiun" which was devoted to the social-political and economic cultural situation of Armenia in 1602-1662.

  • In the "Patmutiun" A. Davrizhetsi authentically described the Armenian deportation of 1604 by the order of Shah Abbas I of Persia followed by the hunger of 1606-1610 and so on.He reported important information about the spiritual and cultural figures of the time, the Armenian colonies of Persia, the activities of the Armenian trade community in different countries, the liberation movement in Georgia.Devoted separated fragments to the history of Aghvan.This work Has a brief chronology (half of the 613th-XVII century).The chronology of the Turkish and Persian rulers, the Catholicos of Sis and Echmiadzin were also included.For the first time it was published during the lifetime of the author (1669, Amsterdam), and then was published three more times (the examinational publication, 1990).The book was translated into French (1874), Russian (1973), Polish (1981), and partly Georgian (1974).
  • He is also the author of two religious chapters.
  • He is buried in the cemetery of Echmiadzin Mother Cathedral.
