Biography
Was born on July 24,1926 in Aleppo, Syria.
Education
- In 1938 graduated from the Mekhitarist college.
- In 1945 graduated from the French college of Aleppo.
- In 1947 graduated from the school-monastery of the Catholicosate of the Great House of Cilicia in Antelias.
- In 1951 graduated from the Brussels State University.
Work Activity
- In 1951-1960 was the ambassador in the Catholicosate of the Great House of Cilicia.
- In 1960-1994 was the ambassador of the Armenian Patriarchate of Jerusalem.
- In 1975-1986 was the representative of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin in the World Council of Churches.
- In 1978-1994 was the editor of the magazine "Syon".
- In 1995 established the faculty of Theology of the Yerevan State University.
Achievements
- In 1951 became a doctor in Philological and Philosophical Sciences (Brussels).
- In 1975-1985 was a member of the Supreme Spiritual Council.
- In 1996 became an honorary doctor of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Armenia.
