Biography
Was born on January 5, 1927 in Leningrad (now St. Petersburg), Russia.
Education
- In 1948 graduated from Leningrad Pedagogical Institute.
Work activity
- 1951-1968 worked at the Pamirian Biology Institute of the Tajik SSR Academy of Sciences.
- 1968-1970 worked at the Kaliningrad University.
- Since 1971 worked at the Minsk Pedagogical Institute.
Achievements
- In 1968 became a Doctor of Geographical Sciences.
- In 1969-Professor.
- In 1990 Tajikistan's Honorary Figure of Science.
Other
- He had a phenomenal memory, both abstract and visual.
- He was anti-communist.Till 1991 dissolution of the Soviet Union, was an open opposition to the ruling regime that's why was in the special register of the State Security Committee. In the 80s of the 20th century came to the conclusion that the USSR could not survive for a long time as a state.
- His works refer to the physical geography issues of mountainous countries.
- Besides his scientific works, he also wrote publicly available books and a series of adventure stories in which he portrayed his Pamirian impressions.
