  • He was a person whose patriotism and creative approach to military medicine saved the lives of thousands.Whenever the NKR Defense Army liberated another settlement from the brown plague of Azerbaijan soldiers, Dr. Aghabalyan was in the ranks of the forward detachment. He considered his main task to be the preservation of medical equipment.
  • Having established "control" over the medical center, Dr. Aghabalyan then organized the transportation of the priceless cargo to Stepanakert. They say it was so enjoyable to see how happily he reacted to each new package of drugs. The work of the ministerial apparatus under his leadership was exceptionally effective.During all the years of the war there wasn't a single case of the spread of infectious diseases in the blockaded NKR and its armed divisions. At the same time, Agabalyan, an excellent surgeon, managed to find time for conducting complex operations.
  • Dr. Agabalyan died shortly after the war.At his funeral thousands of people gathered.
  • Unfortunately Agabalyan's research, very interesting and relevant, describing the post-war syndrome and methods of overcoming it, did not come to light during his life.
