Was born on February 2, 1863 in Astrakhan, Russia.
Education
- In 1883 graduated from Astrakhan Gymnasium.
- In 1888 graduted from medical faculty of Kazan Federal University.
- From 1888 studied at residency clinic of KPFU.
Work activity
- In 1896 conducted private ophthalmology classes in the medical faculty of KPFU.
- From 1900 to 1922, eye diseases department head of KPFU.
- In 1922, simultaneously ophthalmology department head.
- From 1913, founder and director of the Kazan Society of Ophthalmologists.

- The fourth degree of Saint Vladimir order.

Other
- Studied on his own expenses.
- In 1891 passed medical exams and began to study microscopic structure of an eye in the histological laboratory of K.A. Arnstein.
- Works refer to eyes' nerve endings of mammals and people.
- During 1896-1897 took a traineeship abroad in Berlin, Prague, Paris, Vienna.
- Works refer to the prevalence and treatment of trachoma.He proposed a new method of surgery for eyelid twisting in patients with trachoma.He paid attention to the prevention of trachoma among school-age children as well and in his opinion it would be necessary to organize courses for teachers and intellectuals on the prevention of this pathology.
- His works also refer to the questions of glaucoma diagnostics and treatment, eyes' after-typhoid lesions of the vascular system and operative treatment of cataracts.
- Eye patients from the poor were treated by him for free.
- Died on June 11, 1922 in his workplace.
- By the decision of the Medical Faculty Council, his portrait was placed in the eye clinic of KPFU.
