Biography
Was born on April 22, 1884 in Baku, Azerbaijan.
Education
- Was taught by Christopher Kara-Murza and Rejinski.
- In 1904-1906 studied at the Stern Conservatory in Berlin.
- In 1910 graduated from the faculty of law of the Saint Petersburg University.
Work Activity
- Taught at the universities of Baku and Astrakhan.
- In 1921-1924 was the president of "Hayartun" in Tiflis.
- In 1924-1926 was the director of the Yerevan State Conservatory.
- In 1936-1943 was a scientific clerk of the Leningrad Institute of Theatre and Music and the Dean of the theoretical composition faculty of the Conservatory.
- In 1950-1956 taught at the Yerevan State Conservatory and the Yerevan Academy of Fine Arts.
Other
- Was the brother of the Adamyan sisters and Adamyan Hovhannes.
- Published a number of articles about various branches of the arts in the press.
