Was born on 1929 October 12 in Armenian Soviet Republic in the village of Ghushchi(now-Kechut in Vayots Dzor region in the Republic of Armenia)

Education

In 1936-1946 learned in several schools in Yerevan,finished the school № 23.
In 1946-1947 studied in the Yerevan State Medical Institute.
In 1947-1952 studied in Yerevan State University in the faculty of History(YSU).
In 1959-1962 studied in National Academy of Sciences of the Armenian Soviet Socialist Republic in the sector of oriental studies as an aspirant.

In 1954-1957 head of the servicesection of Matenadaran.
In 1957-1959 worked as a junior researcher in Matenadaran.
In 1963-1968 worked in National Academy of Sciences of the Armenian Soviet Socialist Republic in the Institute of Oriental studies as a junior researcher.
In 1968-1971 worked in National Academy of Sciences of the Armenian Soviet Socialist Republic in the Institute of Oriental studies as a senior researcher.
in 1971-1977 worked in the Yerevan State University as a senior lecturer of the chair of History of the East and as a head of the same chair.
In 1978-1980 worked as a lecturer in the faculty of History in the chair of general history,in 1980-1985 as an associate professor,in 1988-1998 as professor.

In 1964 was a candidate of historical sciences.
In 1982 was a doctor of historical sciences.
In 1985 was a professor.
In 1985 received the Medal "40 Years of Victory in the Great Patriotic War 1941–1945".

In 1936 moved to Yerevan with the family.
He is the author of 80 works,including a few books.
His works refer to the Armenian-Indian relations,history of the armenian colonies.
