Biography

Was born on the 8th of March in the city of Yerevan of Soviet Armenia.

Education

  • In 1956 graduted from the Moscoow Conservatory.

Work activity

  • Soloist at Armenian Philharmonic Orchestra since 1956.
    • Has been teaching at the ten-year musical school after P. Chaikovski since 1957.
  • Teaching at Komitas State Conservatory of Yerevan since 1962.

Achievements

  • 1955 laureate of the International Cello Competition after H. Vihan.(Czechia,Prague).
  • 1973 State Reward of the Republic of Armenia.
  • 1980 national artist of the Republic of Armenia.
  • Professor since 1981.
  • 2012 first rate medal "For services to the homeland".

Other

  • The first performer of the Armenian composers’ numerous works.
  • Had recitals abroad.
