Biography

Was born on December 16 (28), 1897 in the village of Derbent, Vilayet of Trebizond, Western Armenia.

Education

  • He got his primary education in Derbent.
  • Attended the theatrical studio after V. Vardanyan (Astrakhan).

Work activity

  • 1916-1917 participated in amateur performances.
  • 1921-1936 actor in Armenian theatres of Kislovodsk, Baku, Tbilisi.
  • 1930-1937 the stage director of Armenian youth theatre in Tbilisi.
  • 1937-1944 the stage director of Armenian Drama Theatre after S.Shahumyan.
  • 1947-1953 the stage director of Leninakan State Drama Theatre.
  • Since 1954 the director of Armenian Drama Theatre after S.Shahumyan.
