Biography

Was born on 14 january, 1867 in Nor Bayazet, Armenia. Died on 7 february, 1954 in Yerevan, Armenia.

Education

  • Received his primary education in his hometown.
  • In 1891 graduated from Yerevan Diocesan School.
  • In 1905 studied at the Faculty of Law at the University of Kharkov.
  • In 1908-1909 studied at the St. Petersburg Psychology Neurological Institute.

Work activity

  • 1881-1884 worked as a trader in his brother's store.
  • Worked on the "Nadezhda" company branch.
  • In 1885 worked in "African company".
  • Was a correspondent of "Mshak" and other periodicals.
  • In 1919-1949 worked in the consumer's union companies (Haykoop) of Armenia.

Achievements

  • Since 1895, member of the ARF.

Other

  • Participated in the transportation of weapons and ammunition to Western Armenia.
  • The studies are devoted to the history of liberation movements, socio-economic and political situation in Western Armenia, administrative structure, areas of statistics and population.
  • He is the author of literary works as well.
  • In 1903, left the Armenian Revolutionary Federation party.
  • In his "Armenian-Turkish conflict in the Caucasus" work he ventilates the anti-democratic nature of the national policy of tsarism.
  • In 1910-1911 was imprisoned by the tsarist government for the book "The liberation movement in Russia since it's first day".
  • In the book "Macedonia" he describes the Macedonians liberation movements and their guerilla war.
  • In 1909 he was in Armenia and published his impressions about Western Armenia in the "Nor hosanq" newspaper.
  • He actively participated in the registration of armenian refugees and salvation During World War II.
