Biography

Was born on March,5,1932 in Tbilisi,Georgia .

Education

• Finished the school after Kirov in Yerevan.
• In 1956 he graduated from the faculty of philology in Yerevan State Linguistic University after V.Brusov.
• In 1963 he graduated from Leningrad Institute for Painting,Sculpture and Architecture.

Work activity

• In 1960-1971 he worked at the National Gallery of Armenia.
• In 1970 established the Gallery for Children(with Zhanna Aghamiryan)
• In 1972 the Museum of Modern Art(director)
• In 1978 the Republic Centre of Aesthetic Education(main director)
• In 1994 'Noyyan ark'company of armenian present painters(president)

Achievements

• In 1980 became an Honored Art Worker of the Republic of Armenia.
• In 1989-1991 became National Soviet deputy.
• In 1999 received the 'Movses Khorenatsi' Medal.
• In 2001 received the 'Mkhitar Gosh' Medal of the Republic of Artsakh.
• In 2004 became an honorary citizen in Yerevan.
• In 2005 received 'Gold Medal of Los Angeles University'.
• Received the 'Khachatur Abovyan' medal.
