Was born in 1862 in Constantinople, Turkey.

- Made a rich herbarium from the growing plants in the environment.
- Described 93 new plants.
- The handwritten works devoted to the study of the flora of Constantinople, are stored in the Department of Botany at the University of Edinburgh.
- In 1896 - Member of the French Society of Botany.
