Biography
Was born on April 11, 1938 in Yerevan, Republic of Armenia.
Education
- In 1955, finished musical college named after R. Meliqyan in Yerevan.
- In 1983, graduated from Yerevan State Conservatory named after Komitas.
Work activity
- 1956-1993 worked at the RA Radio and Television Folk Instruments Ensemble after Aram Merangulyan as a soloist.
- 1959-2000 taught at the college named after R. Meliqyan.
- In 1983, taught at the Yerevan State Conservatory.
Achievements
- In 1968, RA People's Artist.
- In 2003, Professor.
- In 1957, the prizewinner of the contest of 1st Republican (Gold, 1957), All-union festivals (1st prize, 1957) and the winner of the Pop artists union contest.
Other
- Compiled and edited 2 popular methods, manuals, etc.
- In 1972, the "Atabekyan sisters" vocal-instrumental ensemble was founded by Atabekyan which works till today.
