Was born on February 2, 1930 in Moscow, Russia.
Education
- In 1953 graduated from Moscow State Pedagogical Institute of Foreign Languages with a specialization in "English".
- In 1956 graduated from postgraduate studies of Moscow State Pedagogical Institute of Foreign Languages.
Work Activity
- In 1954-1960 -a lecturer of Moscow State Pedagogical Institute of Foreign Languages.
- In 1960-1972 worked at the Institute of the Russian Language at the Academy of Sciences of the USSR, where he was expelled for political reasons (the excuse was "did not pass the reattestation").
- In 1972-1985 worked as the senior researcher at the "Informelektro" pan-RI, the head of the department.
- In 1985-1989-the senior researcher at the Institute of Information Transfer Problems of the RAS.
- In 1989-1994-the head of the laboratory of computer linguistics of TMSI.
- Since 1990-the head of the Theoretical Semantics Department of the Institute of the Russian Language in the RAS.
Achievements
- In 1958-a candidate of Philological Sciences.
- In 1984-a Doctor of Philological Sciences.
- In 1991-a Professor.
- In 1992-a RAS academician.
Other
- The works relate to general linguistics, semantics and some Russian language issues.
