Since 1962 has been an employee of Helmholtz Moscow Research Institute.
Since 1973 has been the head of the laboratory of eye infection and immune diagnosis of Helmholtz Moscow Research Institute.

In 1971 became a candidate in docoral sciences.
In 1972 became a member of the Russian Presidium of the Ophthalmological Scientific Society.
In 1985- USSR inventor.
In 1986 received a silver medal of the Exhibition of Achievements of the National Economy of the USSR.
In 1987 became a professor.
In 1988 received a bronze medal of the Exhibition of Achievements of the National Economy of the USSR.
In 2001 became an honored doctor of the Russian Federation.
In 2002 became a member of the Academy of Natural Sciences of the RF.
Is an honorable member of a number of foreign academies.

Is the brother of Anjelyan Boris and Anjelyan Georgi.
The works refer to the eye infection diagnosis. Was the first to study a number of eye-defying adenoviral diseases , describe the clinical and epidemiological features of these diseases and offer diagnostic, preventive and treatment ways.
