Birth-date and birth-place are not known.
Education
- Received his education in New Jugha, was the pupil of David Jughayeci.
Work activity
- Worked as a teacher at the monastic school of New Jugha.
- Was a monk and abbot of St. Amenaprkich Church of Jugha.
- From 1697 to 1706 was the leader of St. Amenaprkich monastery of Jugha.
Achievements
- In 1706 - Catholicos of All Armenians.
Other
- Followed Nahapet A Edesaci.
- Was fighting against Catholic preachers of that time.
- Defended the Armenian Orthodox Church, playing a significant role in the struggle against Latin missionaries and Catholic propaganda in New Jugha.
- Left many printed and unpublished works, letters, papers and preachings.
- The important letters are those adressed to Clement XI and Peter Bark.
- The letter to the Russian emperor indicates that he was plunged into Israel Ori's liberation ideas.
- Was followed by Astvatsatur A Hamadanci.
- Was buried on the rigth side of Cathedral's bell tower.
