Biography

Was born on May 19, 1823 in Saint Petersburg, Russia.

Education

• He graduated from the St Petersburg Gymnasium.
• In 1846 graduated from the Faculty of Oriental Studies of St. Petersburg University.
• In 1862 graduated from the Medical-Surgical Academy.

Work activity

• Since 1846 worked at the Asian Department of the Foreign Ministry.
• Till 1882 worked at a number of medical institutions in Russia.

Achievements

• In 1855 became a subaltern.
• In 1866 became a Doctor of medicine.

Other

• He is the son of Dmitri Akhsharumov and the brother of Nikolay Akhsharumov .
• In the Institute Akhsharumov gets acquainted with Debu whose social books help him with his new outlook.
• Being an utopian-socialist, Sh. Fourier's ideas (with which he introduced in spring 1848) combined the revolutionary democracy, accepted the need to engage the people of the lower strata in political struggle. Speaking of Fourier's ideas, Akhsharumov said. "The social aspect in me started from here"
• Since 1848 December Akhsharumov becomes an active participant of Petrashevskov's meetings. He also attended the groups of Debu brothers, Kashkin.
• In 1849 April 23,was imprisoned and sentenced to death. On December 22 in the same year, his sentence was changed and for 4 years he was exiled to the Caucasus as a soldier.After some time passed the Small Chechnya and participated in invasions. In 1857 he was discharged. In the same year his rights restore.
• Wrote poems and works on medicine.
• Establish a union of doctors in Poltava.
• Since 1870 worked on a group of Patrashevkans and on its destruction memories where described the verdict reading scene in Semenovyan parade ground.
