Was born on February 10, 1935 in Tbilisi, Georgia.

Education

In 1958 graduated from the Faculty of Mining and Geology, Georgian Polytechnic Institute.

From 1972 to 1983 was the head of Yerevan Experimental Expedition, USSR Ministry of Geology.
From 1983 to 1995 was the head of Mining Department of National Polytechnic University of Armenia.
From 1995 to 2002 was the chairman of Commission on Mineral Resources.
From 1996 was the chairman of the Armenian Center for International Mineral Resources.

In 1971, candidate of technical sciences.
In 1981, doctor of technical sciences.
In 1985, professor.
In 1986, scientific council member of physical and technical problems of birth places, USSR Academy of Sciences.
In 1988, mining division member of the Lenin and State Awards Committee.
In 1995, associate member of the scientific council of Mountain Sciences Problems, Russian Academy of Sciences.
In 1997, member of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
In 1999, member of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences.
