Was born on October 12, 1854 in Kolkata, India.

Education

She received her education in a convent school in Kolkata where she learnt Sanskrit and English.

1919-1920 the diplomatic representative of The Rebublic of Armenia and the consul general to the Far East, the ambassador of Armenia in Japan.
Cooperated with "The Japan Gazette" English-language newspaper in Yokohama.
She wrote articles for "The times", "Le Figaro" and other newspapers and magazines about the economy of Eastern countries.

In 1890 she married Michael Abgaryan who was from New Julfa by birth, and then they moved to Japan and settled there. In the city of Kobe Michael engaged in the sale of silk, also in import and export of different goods. He founded a trading company and opened the hotel "Great Eastern".
In 1891 was born Diana's first child Rose, then her son Michael Jr., and in 1896 was born her daughter Ruth. In 1906 after her husband's death the family moved to Yokohama where Diana opened a shop and bought a big house in the neighborhood of Yamate in Yokohama. She lived in Japan for 46 years.
She Knew many languages: Persian, English, Hindi, Japanese and Chinese.
Wrote poems under the pen name Mother Armenia.
Published articles about the Armenians and the Armenian genocide in the English press in Japan.
After Diana was appointed as an ambassador, Japan de facto recognized The Republic of Armenia.
She is buried in the local cemetery of foreigners.
In 1984 the Japanese Armenologist Hidehara Nakajima founded the institute of Armenia. Due to his efforts were found Abgar's house and 3 published books (1911-1918) in Yokohama.
